The Aligner AFO is a revolutionary new orthotic brace that updates the University of California Biomechanics Lab (UCBL) standard. The Aligner AFO is designed for posterior tibial tendon dysfunction (PTTD) and pathologies that create medial / lateral instability or varus / valgus deformity. Available exclusively Custom-from-Cast.
This custom AFO has free motion dorsi / plantar flexion with rigid medial-lateral control. The posted UCBL footplate is combined with a unilateral upright for a three point pressure system that enhances the proven therapeutic value of the UCBL orthosis. The most common application is PTTD but it is also effective for bracing many conditions that cause M-L instability.
